Neurontin, also known as Gabapentin, is part of a group of medications called anti-epileptics and is used for the prevention and management of seizures associated with epilepsy. It can be used in conjunction with other epilepsy medications. Neurontin doesn't claim to sure epilepsy but rather to control the outbreak of seizures by affecting the transmission of nerve signals in the brain. Neurontin can also be prescribed to help with pain from shingles.

Nuerontin should not be used if you are allergic to Gabapentin or any of the ingredients mixed with the medicine.

  • decreased white blood cell levels symptoms: such as high fever, sore throat, frequent infections, or sores on the body or mouth
  • depression: feeling sad; losing interest in work, hobbies, or friends; increased or decreased appetite; sleepiness or difficulty sleeping; weight loss or gain; feelings of hopelessness or guilt; or thoughts of suicide
