Requip

Requip, also known as reprinirole, is an antiparkinsonian agent and helps treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. It helps with muscle and movement control, stiffness, tremors and restless leg syndrome. Since Parkinson's disease is associated with low levels of dopamine in the brain, Requip provides the same effects.

Taken with or without food and requip is usually taken 3 times a day in a .25 mg dose. It is usually taken with food to prevent nausea. If a dosage is missed, take it as soon as remembered or if you are close to the next dosage, skip the missed one and continue on the regular schedule. Never take two doses at the same time.

Requip should not be used if you are:

  • Prone to heart disease
  • Prone to kidney disease
  • Prone to liver disease
  • Allergic to reprinirole or any ingredients contained in Requip.
