Casodex

Casodex is used in patients to help treat Stage D2 metastatic carcinoma in the prostate. It is a Bicalutamide , which is a group of medications as nonsteroidal antiandrogens which block the effect of male testosterone in the body.

It is recommended to take Casodex with (LHRH) analogue luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone and that you start both at the same time. Once started, Casodex can be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day. If a dosage is missed, take it as soon as remembered or if you are close to the next dosage, skip the missed one and continue on the regular schedule. Never take two doses at the same time. 

Casodex should not be used if you are:

• sensitive or allergic to bicalutamide or ingredients found in the tablet
• in the early stages of prostate cancer
• children
• females
